Have you ever stopped to consider the power of attentiveness? This question has been on my mind lately, and I've realized how important it is in shaping a mindful and meaningful life in Christ. As it has been said, “Attentiveness is the natural prayer of the soul ~ Theologian: Nicolas Malebranche”; it lays the foundation for a healthy and wise reality. From personal experience, I've seen the profound impact attentiveness can have, regardless of whether it's approached with optimism or pessimism. When we pay attention, we prioritize life and live in the present moment, allowing us to connect more deeply with God and those around us. This is particularly powerful in cultivating a life where Christian Character Counts.
Paying attention is extremely important, to the point where it supersedes thinking. It involves searching for things you are unaware of and being present at the moment. Adopting attentiveness can result in a more purposeful and satisfying reality per Christ's teachings. It entails observing, listening, and verifying whether things are as you assume and hope they are, but if they are not and you are attentive, then you can adapt, correct, and adjust your understanding to match the reality you have discovered through Christ. The issue is that most individuals are not paying attention, which is why Jesus declares, "Whoever has ears, let them hear (Matthew 11:15)."
Being attentive requires discipline, concentration, persistence, and a willingness to engage fully in the present moment to hear God's voice and experience His love. We can hear God's voice by listening to what's happening through circumstances, struggles, and relationships. Practicing attentiveness allows us to become more attuned to God's world, enhancing our ability to learn, make better decisions, and follow Christ as faithful followers of the LORD. As Christians, we are called to be attentive listeners to Jesus's teachings in the Bible, which guarantees a fulfilled, happy, and successful life to those who are paying attention.
Being attentive involves making a conscious effort to stay present in each moment of life. This means focusing on the task at hand, actively listening to others, and being aware of our surroundings. In our personal lives, attentiveness can strengthen relationships, improve communication skills, and increase empathy. In our professional lives, attention is crucial for success. It can boost productivity, enhance problem-solving skills, and improve teamwork. Additionally, attentiveness can help us identify new opportunities for growth and development where we can genuinely say, "It is well with my soul!"
Being attentive can make a big difference in our lives. It's a critical trait that we should cultivate in all areas of life. By doing so, we can awaken blessings and rewards that we never realized before and pursue a life of love. Otherwise, we'll be asleep in life, making it more bitter, cynical, and disastrous in the bigger picture of life. We should choose to learn and cultivate attentiveness by hearing God's voice. Do so to increase Christ's goodness in life where Christian Character Counts.
Many Blessings,
