How skillful are you as a Christian with using The Armor of God? The Armor of God consists of the Belt of Truth. The Breastplate of Righteousness. The Shoes of Peace. The Shield of Faith. The Helmet of Salvation and the Sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:10-18). These metaphorical pieces of equipment are necessary to fight the “Good” fight with God and like-minded soldiers of Christ. If a person expects to thrive and win the battles in life, nothing is more important than understanding these tools and how to use them in the LORD’s Army. Through the Wonderfully Weird Armor Devotion Series, a person will learn what The Armor of God is all about, how to put it on correctly, and use its resources skillfully to become a decorated Soldier of Christ in the best “good-natured” militant force ever.  

Basic training is required like a soldier in the military before being issued tools of war. For the Christain, this means perspective is aligned with the general reality of God’s Goodness and the basic teachings of Christ, what I call The Wonderfully Weird Commands of Christ, are commonly understood and being practiced in the excellent bearing of God. When this happens, a Christian gets to graduate basic training and moves on to “Technical Training,” where the equipment of God is issued, and the tools of war can be learned competently and used for the service of God as a qualified soldier in the LORD’s Army.

This series aims to gain combat wisdom of the LORD and dress in the fatigues of Christ’s Way, both in character (the teachings of Christ) and skill (The Armor of God). That is, in an offensive position where God takes a stance defensively, and we “get to” fight with The Armor of God peacefully and skillfully to win the battles of life. In the devotion series, we will look at the aspect of God’s Body Armor and uncover how to use each tool effectively according to God’s battle plan. At the end of the series, the hope is that a committed Soldier of Christ will be equipped and empowered to move fluently through life’s battles with a strong character that meets any actual demand.           

To be clear, the reason for this series is the same as God’s; to bring to reality the Life and the Presence of heaven here on earth to live triumphantly with God and others. A fact that only happens when God’s people decide to fight the good fight willingly and skillfully in the LORD. A war fought with like-minded soldiers who understand what it means to conquer God’s Mountain of Goodness where the enemy is defeated with truth, righteousness, peace, salvation, faith, and God’s Spirit that reigns forever. I encourage all to join me to gain discipline through this series to function well in a belief system that guarantees victory with God and others, whatever the enemy throws our way.
