Let’s wrap up where we began with the Wonderfully Weird Devotion series. Recall the question we started with, “Have you ever wondered where true power comes from?” Through this series, you now know it comes from God’s Righteousness and Justice through the Wonderfully Weird Commands of Jesus found in the Bible. Only God gives fulfillment and fruitfulness through these means! It’s God’s power of Love and His Character that provides the ability necessary to fight the good fight on this side of heaven.
God’s powerful Love, His Righteousness, fuels the Christian’s Life to fight and travel the path of victory, and it is freely given to anyone who wants it. Righteousness, to be clear, is God’s love and the standard Christians live by and understand it as living right equable relationships between people, no matter the social differences. Most understand God’s gift of Love, For God so loved the world (John 3:16), and know it’s where the path of Righteousness begins. However, most are unfamiliar with God’s Justice and how it creates Righteousness.
It’s the Wonderfully Weird Commands where justice comes into the picture and gives the Christian a Way to adjust their lives to create right living with God and people. When the Christ-follower decides to learn the commands or laws of Christ, they grow in the justice of God’s design which, in turn, gives them the method to redeem Life properly. A redemption that keeps them aligned with God’s vision of “Goodness” living in His Will (Genesis 1:31). It’s the commands of Christ in one’s heart that are used to correct the injustice in Life, personally, relationally, and socially.
It’s the Righteousness and justice of God where maturity forms in a Christian. Like a young soldier training in the military, basic principles and character are taught before moving to the next level of growth. The next level for God’s soldiers, learning and using “The Armor of God” competently. However, for this to be a reality, a Christian must understand the essentials of God the Father’s perspective (Righteousness) and God’s Son’s character (justice). There is no getting around it. If the fundamentals are not in place, no matter how long a person’s been a Christian or how many credentials they hold, they are immature in the LORD and are inadequate to lead God’s Army in the Good fight.
As this series ends, I encourage all to honestly evaluate themselves to see their maturity objectively in the LORD. Is your perspective anchored on God’s “Righteousness,” and do you know the fundamental teachings of Jesus that develop HIs character justly in you? If so, welcome to the next level of maturity where God’s equipment, His Armor, can be prominent and used. If not, humble yourself and give everything you got, to understand the essentials of God’s Righteousness and Justice (Proverbs 4:7). Love (Righteousness) and Character (Justice) allows a person to be successful always and understand God’s true power in Life.
